4 Month Mission Trip-Kenyan Orphanage!

I went on my first big mission trip with my church Cornerstone last July to Kenya, Africa. I spent two weeks at an orphanage called Huruma Children's Home and had an absolutely amazing time! I helped paint the boys dormitory, facilitate a Vacation Bible School, and taught math in the school at the orphanage. In between teaching, service projects, and VBS, I spent all of my free time sitting in the classrooms, playing with the children after school, or hanging out with the girls in their dorm before lights out.

Leaving the orphanage was one of the hardest things emotionally I have ever had to do. I cried for miles as we drove away and headed for the airport. I knew God had big plans for me and there was no way I could just leave, never to return again.

I am thrilled to say I am going back to Huruma Children's Home for 4 months! I will live at the orphanage, teach math in their school, tutor those who are struggling, lead purity discussion with ladies, and do whatever else I can with my God given gifts and talents. Words can not express the joy I have when thinking about this incredible journey! God said "GO" and I couldn't be happier to follow!
