NY Combat Sambo Covid Fundraiser Continued

 

Thanks to the generosity of many donors, we met our goal over 6 months ago and shut down the fundraising campaign. Having said that, who would have thought that 9 months after closing the studio we would still be in the deep waters we were in the spring.

 

NYCS has be very fortunate thanks to some governmental aid, our prior Go Fund Me and and students who have chosen to continue distanced training on a private (or semi-private) lesson basis, to stay afloat when many other studios and schools have been forced to shut their doors. We absolutely refuse to run group classes at this time, as many other clubs have secretly done.

 

Still, despite all the support we have received, which has helped stem the financial bleeding to a great degree, we still face difficult times in the new year. It seems likely that further federal stimulus aid will continue to be stuck in a congressional quagmire and it will likely be a good 6 months before a vaccine is widely available, allowing us to begin offering group training.

 

Inasmuch, I have decided to re-open our fundraising campaign. It does pain me to do so on many levels, but reality is that the school can still use your help. So, for those who have been asking how to support us, you can now make a donation. I have set our goal at 11k as that is the value of 3 months rent and utility. While my landlord was very generous in allowing us to pay 1/2 rent during the first 5 months of the pandemic, we have since been paying full rent, and have not been forgiven on the 5 months of 1/2 rent.
