Hi everyone! We are the Hendricksons. Charlie is our 7 year old son who is the main recipient of this fundraiser. Charlie is a bright and fun loving boy who tries to make everyone laugh!
In August 2020, after a stomachache for a few weeks, we took him to the ER where they found out that my little boy had a massive blood clot in his renal artery along with a few small clots around his lungs. He was transported to a childrens hospital over an hour away from home. He started in the ICU where they put him into sedation for 2 days. The first day they did a surgery to insert a catheter to give him TPA to dissolve the clots. The next day it proved successful and they removed the catheter and woke him up. He was in the hospital a total of a week. With appointments with a hematologist, he was put on Xarelto to prevent any more clots. All of his tests came back negative for any disorders.
This past Wednesday, December 2, 2020 Charlies right leg swelled and became purple. We rushed him to the ER to find out he now has a DVT (deep vein thrombosis) along with even more clots around his lungs, all while on blood thinners. He was air-lifted to Children's again. He has been here in the ICU again and they are not letting him leave this time without answers or a diagnosis which will be a few weeks. Our lives have been turned upside down with this. Dad is at home with the other kids and mom is not able to go to work.
We are asking for help with expenses which will go to mom having some meals and snacks, gas for travel (its over an hour each way in a car that has seen better days), basic needs etc. Also how ever much is donated will also help with some expenses once he is sent home as mom will continue to not be able to work until we get this issue under control, which could be a couple months.
