Fat City Cafe is asking for your support for our second go fund me campaign.
First and foremost, Thank You with all of our hearts to everyone who donated to our first go fund me which we initiated in April. That generous outpouring of support enabled us to keep our doors open during the onset of this covid-19 pandemic. We are forever grateful!
Here we are now, entering month 10 of restrictions and the 3rd wave of this pandemic. We have done everything we can to keep our doors open and keep our small business afloat during this time. In the nearly 50 years Fat City Cafe has been in business, there has never been an existential threat to our livelihoods until now. Currently we are limited to outdoor seating and take out. Our revenue has drastically decreased with the challenges of this year. As winter approaches we face more hardships. Winter weather will eventually impede our ability to have comfortable outdoor seating. Surges in covid cases mean people are eating out less and less. It is our top priority to keep our customers and staff safe and healthy. With that in mind, we still hold out hope to keep Fat City in business.
It is with a heavy heart that I humbly ask for the support of the community through donations once again. This cause is not just for my family and myself, but also for our wonderful staff. Our goal is to retain our staff, as well as keep up with rent and business costs and simply keep the restaurant afloat until the storm clears.
We Johnsons have owned Fat City Cafe for 20+ years now. During that time we have been grateful to get to know many of you and your families. We cherish the memories and moments we have had as a community staple in Multnomah Village. We hope for more to come! ❤
No donation is too small. We appreciate any and all support. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign to help spread the word. We also need your business! Please come by for take out or outdoor dining if you are comfortable. We also have gift cards available to purchase (perfect for a holiday gift!).
From our family to yours, we are wishing everyone a safe and healthy winter season. We know these times are difficult for everyone and we extend our love to you all.
