Mi familia vivio un momento aterrador durante el fin de semana cuando se inició un incendio y arrasó con la mitad de nuestra casa. Era Noviembre 21, un sábado por la noche / domingo por la mañana temprano alrededor de la 1 am cuando mi perrita, Princess, me despertó ladrando a la puerta. Ella fue quien nos alertó a mí y a mi mamá del peligro. Fui a revisar la puerta y vi el fuego subiendo los escalones de la parte de atrás de la casa que conducían a mi apartamento y era nuestra única salida. Cerré la puerta y con mucho miedo y desesperación , hice todo lo que pude para salir a salvo. Corrí tan rápido como puede y la primera ventana que encontré logré abrirla y salir al techo a esperar ayuda. Tanto fue la angustia que tuve que arrojar a mí perrita Princess para que alguien la atrapara abajo. Fue el momento más horrible de mi vida. Estoy muy agradecida de estar con vida y junto a mi familia, pero muy tristes por la pérdida de casi todo lo que teníamos. Teníamos toda una vida de recuerdos en esa casa. Todavía no sabemos cómo comenzó el incendio y a partir de ahora, no estamos seguros de cuánto podremos recuperar. Solo quedamos con lo que teníamos puesto esa noche y nada mas. El seguro de la casa es algo muy confuso, y por ahora solo nos queda vivir el día a día y seguir adelante. Sé que estamos en medio de esta pandemia y todos estamos luchando, pero si alguien puede colaborarnos con algo, se lo agradecería mucho. Todos estamos a salvo y me asegurare que nuestras héroe -Princess, reciba lo mejor. No sé dónde estaríamos si ella no estuviera con nosotros. Gracias por leer esto y manténganos en sus pensamientos y oración. ——————————————————- My family was struck with horrible luck over the weekend when a fire started and took out half of our home. It was on November 21st, late Saturday night/early Sunday morning, around 1 am when I was woken up by my dog, Princess, barking at the door. She was the one who alerted me and my mom of the danger. I went to check the door and saw the fire crawling up the back steps leading up to my apartment. This was our only exit. I shut the door in nothing but shock and fear and did everything I could to get us out safely through the living room window. We were stranded on the roof waiting for help while I tossed Princess down for someone to catch. It was the scariest moment of my life. I am glad and grateful to the firefighters for getting my family out safe, yet saddened by the loss of just about everything we owned. We had a lifetime of memories in that house. We're still in the dark about how the fire started and as of right now, we're not even sure how much we're going to be able to recover or have access to as our only way up was destroyed and the structure isn't secure. We have to start over with nothing but the clothes we wore that day. Insurance can be tricky, so we simply need to figure out our day to day and continue on. I know we're in a pandemic and we're all struggling, but if anyone out there could spare something, it would be very very appreciated, even just keeping us in your thoughts and prayers would be incredible. We are all safe and I'm making sure my angel, Princess, gets the treatment she deserves. I don't know where we would be if she wasn't around. A huge thank you to anyone reading this.
