Daemian Andablo

Hello, if you're on this page, you're probably a family member or a friend of Daemian's, and you know what a truly wonderful kid he is. He was involved in a rollover accident on the way to a weekend camping trip on Friday, November 13th, and suffered C1, C2, and C6 fractures and compression fracures in his T1-6. fWhile remaining in great spirits, he is in a halo for 8-12 weeks (a device that allows his neck to remain immobile, and to heal) and he is (amazingly) able to walk, but his hands are taking longer to come back to full function. Many people do not survive C1/C2 injuries, let alone be up and walking within 48 hours. The strides, literal and metaphorical, that Daemian has made in just over a week are nothing short of amazing. He has been training for over a year as a boxer, and has dreams of going pro eventually. He hasn't let this accident set him back mentally, and remains determined to get back into the ring as soon as he is cleared. To get to that point, he is going to require weekly therapy visits, as well as the mental determination and grit to get back to fighting level. Due to the severity of his injuries, he requires around the clock care, as well as expensive medical equipment. His father and stepmother have temporarily moved to Nebraska to provide this care, however this leaves them with no income, and the medical bills will soon start to pile up. It is our hope (Daemian's siblings) that this CaringBridge account will provide some relief for the expenses incurred from getting Daemian back on his feet. These expenses include gas to doctor's visits, medical bills, medical equipment, and the loss of income that happens from going from working to being a fulltime caretaker. We appreciate you reading this, and we will be updating the page regularly with progress and updates from Daemian. He is appreciative of the support he has received so far, and is so ready to be back to fighting form.
