Crohn's Disease and me!

Donation protected

Hi! My name is Rebecca. I am 23 years old and I have Crohn's Disease. I was diagnosed in August 2011 and had to take a year and a half off from university to get better. If you don't know what Crohn's disease is, it is an inflammatory bowel disease that does not have a cure. With the Crohn's disease came other things including fistulas and abscesses where I had to get treatment to remove them. I started taking medications to treat my disease but it was not caught soon enough and I had to get surgery in October 2012 to remove a piece of my bowels. I had complications so I went into surgery again 5 days after my first surgery and came out with a temporary ileostomy. I am now at the moment trying to finish university to become an Ultrasound Technologist. Therefore, I have plenty of OSAP/student loans to pay for. As too how much my medications cost, it can be anywhere from $50 to $2000/month depending on what I am taking at any one given time. I also have ostomy supplies to pay for which are, as you might have guessed, very expensive. I won't be able to work for another 2-3 months when I get my ostomy reversal surgery, and I'm hoping to rent a house within the near future. Therefore, any help that you could give would be very much appreciated. Also, if I get over $1000, I will give 10% of the money raised to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada.  Thank-you! J
