Please Help Me Repair (or Replace) My Truck

THE SHORT

My best friend in all the world is Matilda, my truck.  Sadly, two days after my 18th birthday, Tilda and I got into an accident on the Crowchild bridge.  Don't worry, I'm fine!  But Matilda is not...

Our neighborhood mechanic believes that he can restore Matilda to a safely driveable condition but the cost of that will be approximately $2,500.  I'm reaching out to my family and friends in the hope that I can raise that amount by year's end.

THE LONG

On Tuesday, November 10th I got into a single-car accident on the highway. I slid into the barrier wall head-on going somewhere between 40-60 KPH. The roads were covered in snow and very slippery. I managed to get Matilda off the road to a safe area with the help of a kind man that was behind me when I crashed. When I came out of shock and saw the extent of the damage, the only way I could describe it was a "Botched Face-Lift".

The radiator was damaged, the frame was bent and the oil was leaking, which lead to her getting towed back to my house. Matilda is now sitting in front of my house with no hope of being drivable without some serious love. This accident happened 2 days after my 18th birthday, and after an as-yet unsuccessful job hunt for 2 months, this accident had the worst timing. On top of it, my grandpa had declared Matilda totaled.

As a person who has to go to many places (doctor, pharmacy, etc.) the need for transportation is high. Since both my mom and stepdad have busy work lives, Matilda was a necessity not a want. Matilda the 2003 Chevy Blazer ZR2 was my very first vehicle and I'd hate for her life to come to such an abrupt end. I love Matilda as if she was a person, and I have many memories attached to her, and seeing her in such a bad condition makes me sad.

We don't know for certain if Matilda is even repairable.  If she gets deemed to be a write off then I will need a new vehicle and would use the funds toward that end.  I really do want Matilda up and running properly though.   She was a gift from a family member and my mom has already spent a great deal to get Matilda brand new brakes and not one, but two new catalytic converters. I would hate to say goodbye to her but things don't always turn out how you want them to. If you could help me in repairing Matilda, I would be extremely grateful.
