Eastern Carolina Human Services Agency, Inc. (ECHSA, Inc.) is a private non-profit Community Action Agency that provides services to low-income families in Duplin, Onslow, and New Hanover Counties. The programs administered by the agency include: Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program, Community Services Block Grant- Family Self Sufficiency Program (CSBG-FSS), and NC Serves Program for Veterans and active duty military and their families.  These programs, in partnership, provide the skills necessary to equip participants with the highest possibility of becoming economically and socially self-sufficient. The agency’s primary goal is to assist families in becoming independent and less dependent on government/welfare assistance. Low income families, disabled persons, children, and homeless veterans are among the populations who are afforded comprehensive case management services that foster a better living through education and training, employment support/job placement, planning for their financial future, and personal development.

ECHSA, Inc. is reaching out for financial assistance from all of those who feel that our cause is worthy of support.  We want to continue to provide housing for homeless families and Veterans who faithfully served our country. We want to continue to help low-income families rise above poverty and become economically and socially self-sufficient. Everyone is served at ECHSA, Inc.

Annually, ECHSA, Inc. hosts an Anti-Poverty Festival, the first of it's kind, to provide a one-stop shop of resources in the areas of employment, education, personal development, financial assistance, etc. Information and specialty vendors provide access to resources, while food vendors serve up tasty treats from Carolina BBQ to specialized candied apples. Vendors are welcome. Volunteers are needed, and donations of money, prizes and gifts are appreciated. Anything given, whether large or small, is necessary to ensure the continuation of services during hard times.
