Save Reena's Hair from Chemotherapy

Hello, I was diagnosed with HER2 positive, Estrogen positive, Proestrogen positive Breast Cancer on October 2, 2020. When my Oncologist told me I would need chemotherapy I instantly cried and asked "Will I be looking my hair!?" The dreaded answer of "Yes you will loose your hair," felt like I was being suckerpunched in my stomach. My hair is special to me. My hair is apart of who I am. After speaking with my amazing care team at Sutter Cancer Center in Downtown Sacramento, CA I was given information regarding Penguin Cold Cap's and have decided to give it a try. The cold caps use dry ice and a special head piece to preserve the hair follicles during chemotherapy treatment. I will be wearing a cold cap before, during and after my chemotherapy treatments. I am hopeful. If I can keep at least half of my hair on my head that would mean the world to me. The cost to rent the cold cap is $449 a month and I have hired a cold cap specialist to assist me.
