Waiting for Work Comp

After 10 months of interviewing, training, and tons of BS, I started my job at the post office and promptly tripped over broken pavement and injured my knee. I reported the injury, went to a doctor, learned I had a torn meniscus, and was promptly fired. My supervisor stated that the injury meant I was too much of liability. She also contested my claim that the injury was real and was work related. Since then, I have received no pay. Because she contested the injury, the matter will not be resolved for at least 30 days, meaning I will receive no pay. Because of the injury, I am limited in what I can do to earn money. I was already behind on my bills and am down to my very last dollar. Any help will be deeply appreciated.
