Helping Homeless Disabled Veterans

Hi- this is my first time doing an online fundraiser if this kind. I know of a veteran of two tours in Iraq, who is currently experiencing homelessness. While he has been working with the VA and other community resources, he has still not been able to get back on his feet and find and pay for a place to live. Over the past month, he has spent many nights sleeping in his car. As the weather turns, this will soon become a deadly option for him. In the past I have worked to raise thousands of dollars for Wounded Warrior Foundation, Folds Of Glory and the Home Base Foundation. All of these charities support veterans with Physical and mental wounds caused by war injuries or PTSD or both. I am starting this gofundme, as I need to help someone I know directly. From my time in Iraq, Kosovo and Bosnia, I have gained such a deep appreciation for our military and their families. Honestly, I never really understood how PTSD and substance abuse can lead to homelessness, but I am now seeing it in real time. I am urging you to donate what you can so I can work to help this Iraq veteran find an apartment, pay for the security deposit and buy basic furnishings for the place. I wouldn’t be asking if this weren’t a critical time for this warrior. I am very concerned that he will perish from the elements soon, if he doesn’t find a home soon.
