25km for Alex's 25 years

Tax deductible
About Alex:

This year has been tough in many ways. In January, we suddenly lost Alex which was a shock for everyone. Alex brightened up any room he was in with his wacky sense of humour and sarcastic comments. He was only 25 years old when he died and deserved so many more years. Alex was a much loved brother, son, grandson and friend. Alex had epilepsy which is something that I don't believe there is enough awareness of, so we would like to raise awareness and money for epilepsy research.

About our challenge:

Myself and my partner Matt will be walking 25 kilometres in a day, a km for every year of Alex's life, to raise money for Epilepsy Research UK in his memory. The walk will take place in Essex, where Alex lived and will take place the weekend of Alex's Birthday (18th July 2020) we feel this is significant as it will be his first birthday he won't be here with his family and friends, as he should be.

About Epilepsy:

Epilepsy can affect anyone of any age, gender or ethnicity. It causes seizures through excessive electrical activity in the brain. There are over 600,000 people in the UK with a known diagnosis of epilepsy: That’s about 1 in 103 people. In every week over 600 people are given an epilepsy diagnosis; that’s 87 each and every day. Shockingly there are 21 epilepsy-related deaths every week; that’s over 1000 every year.

About the Charity:
