Whitney's eye cancer treatment

Donation protected
Nathan and Kayleigh’s 5 month old daughter Whitney has been diagnosed this September with a rare cancer (retinoblastoma) in her right eye and a partially detached retina. They discovered this a few weeks ago upon visiting their optometrist when things just didn't seem right and they were looking for reassurance. After a visit to the Alberta Children's hospital in Calgary they were told they would need to head to Sick Kids in Toronto almost immediately for further testing, surgery, and treatment. They live in Calgary so as you can imagine this is a long trip (especially during Covid) and they have two other young children. Whitney has  just finished her first round of intra-arterial chemotherapy and they will be going back again in a few weeks for the next round. The treatment is injected into an artery that goes directly to the cancer in Whitney's eye and is very delicate. This relatively new targeted chemotherapy technique can only be done in Toronto and as a result they will need to travel back and forth every month or so. This makes it difficult to work and provide for the family. Though the Alberta government has been paying for their flights (so far) their accommodation, meals, and any other extras are not covered. They also have two other beautiful children Ember and Heath who need care while Whitney is in Toronto with her Mom and Dad. Any little bit could help this family through a difficult time.
