Tattle’s Life Saving Oral Surgery

Tattle is a 12 year old short haired tuxedo cat who has been with my family from his birth. When I think of my childhood, I genuinely can’t remember much from before Tattle was around. Within the last year, Tattle has rapidly developed severe gum diseases that have diminished, and almost eliminated, his ability to eat. The vet described this as follows: “Imagine eating a hot piece of pizza, where it sticks to your teeth and burns your gums. This is what it’s like for him every time he tries to consume his meals”. Tattle has experienced massive weight loss in a short period of time as there are several days a week where we struggle to get him to eat anything at all. The only solution for this issue is an oral surgery to remove all of his teeth, and clean his gums so that they can heal and allow him to eat soft canned/blended foods again. This would give him many extra years in life as he is otherwise in good heathy condition. This procedure is estimated to cost roughly $700. My parents and I cannot afford this surprise procedure, as I am a full time college student, and my family survives on my father’s single income. Tattle is receiving steroid injections in the short term to help make him more comfortable, but this is not a long-term solution. If we cannot find the money for this oral procedure, the only option my family will have is to put him down to avoid a slow painful death for him via starvation. I’m here today to beg for help, for this sweet cat who has been nothing but wonderful to my family. He has always been so loyal and loving, and is the first to greet me when I come home to visit. I can’t imagine my parents home without him in it, and he deserves more time. Please, if you have even $1 to spare, every cent will help in raising the money for him to keep living.
