Help Fire Family After Hurricane Sally

Hi everyone, we are fundraising for our wonderful friends Chris and Alicia, as well as their two boys. Chris is a DoD firefighter and Navy Veteran from Washington State. Last year, he was offered a job as a firefighter in New Orleans, Louisiana. He accepted the new position and also opted to simultaneously volunteer at a volunteer fire department in Escambia County, Florida. Alicia and their two boys joined him in Florida and purchased their first home in Pensacola shortly after, starting a new adventure in life. When Hurricane Sally made landfall earlier this week, Chris and Alicia found themselves in an emergency situation. Their home was quickly inundated with floodwater and they had to be water rescued out by the Sheriff’s Department, who’s water rescue vehicle got stuck in their driveway. Thankfully, a caring neighbor was able to get his boat started to help them all evacuate. During all of this, with four feet of water raging inside their home, Chris went back inside the house to save their animals. Thankfully, Chris, Alicia, their boys, their three dogs, and two cats are all safe and sound and staying with a friend. While we are all so relieved they are all safe, they lost everything; their cars, their household items, pictures...everything. They have no idea what to expect as far as out of pocket expenses or what insurance will cover or how long it will take to be compensated. Hopefully they will be able to salvage the bones of their home and rebuild. In the meantime, we would like to do everything we can to make sure that this fire family can continue to serve their community at full capacity. Thank you all for taking the time to read this.
