Brett’s Burnt Bus (Homeless Due To Wildfire)

Homeless Due To Wildfire Please HELP (Original title) Also known as our new title. ~Brett’s Burnt Bus.~ The Holiday Farm Fire, broke out unexpectedly catching many off guard and destroying many homes in its wake. My Dad Brett, escaped the Oregon Holiday Farm Fire with just the cloths on his back and his wallet. He was within a mile of where the down power line started the wildfire blaze. He was amongst the first several groups evacuated. Currently as of (9/13/2020) the wildfire is still burning and not contained. The Holiday Farm Fire has burnt over 161,000 acres here in Oregon. It burnt through my Dad’s home his RV bus and property. At Holiday Farm RV park. This fund is to help recoup his losses. My dad loves the Pacific Northwest with all his heart. He started that love with a hitch hiking trip out to Washington and down the coast in the 70s. Worked and lived in Sunny side Washington. Before returning to Ohio for work and to meet my soon to be mom. After us kids were all grown up and my Dad had retired. We made a plan to move west in 2012. My Dad would find a classic bus and slowly make his way out west. He looked for two and a half years until he found the perfect Bus manufactured as an RV! He traveled the entire northern states in this bus. Enjoying all the ups and downs of the trip. Once being stuck in Billings Montana for a blown transmission. Luckily there was a shop that knew how to work on classic 1980 Blue Bird Wanderlodge RV buses! Once he made it to Oregon. We happily rejoiced in our successful plan and that we were together again. “In Oregon!” He found himself in love with the coast and stayed for three plus years just outside of a small Diary town, you may recognize the name Tillimook, Oregon. As the coast was not his first love, the mountain always were. So he began looking into a mountain property to call his own. He found the beautiful RV Park H.O.A community and fell in love. Bought a Space in the Holiday Farm RV park. Just outside of Blue river, Oregon. Since then he has spent most of his days working on his property and helping out the community in the Holiday Farm RV park. Until that tragic night, September 7th 2020 around 8pm. My Dad was relaxing when a fire fighter knocked on his door. The fire fighter said “you gotta go there’s no time to grab your stuff!” He drove thru fallen trees, in between cut trees already down. Where first responders had cut them to allowing my Dad and community members to escape. Some vehicles sides and rear ends melted while escaping for their lives. After days of staying in the Thurston high school and 4 different hotel. Keeping our heads up and praying for the best. Remaining optimistic daily, we finally saw the true absolute total loss he has endured. The bus is completely burnt up, windows blown everything is ash and charcoal inside. All family sentimental items and photos are lost to the wildfire. Though the funds can not replace what matters most to us. Our family heirlooms. It may help my Dad find another classic 80s Blue Bird Wanderlodge. Help him repair the property and shed that is totaled. The fund goal is to help my dad get another RV home. My Dad Brett is unaware I am making this GoFundMe. He would never ask, so I am doing it for him. (Edit 9/24/2020: he now is aware of the fund!) He is very moved by everyones support and help. Please help my Dad find his way back to happiness! He came out to the mountains to enjoy them. Knowing damn well they are dangerous (we all do out here in the PNW) but understanding the beauty is worth it. We pick ourselves up and knock the dust off. We will be helping out in every way we can to help build back up the community in blue river and rainbow. As a construction worker I will be donating my weekends to the clean up and rebuilding of this town. I have the time to donate but the funds in my life are limited. As are my Dad’s. Please help rebuild one mans life so my Dad and I can focus on rebuilding the community! Anything you can give will be appreciated. No donation is too small.
