Meet Jessica Murphy: Mom to 10 year old daughter Reagan, Fiance to Neil (a commercial fisherman), veteran of the U.S. Navy & diehard Seahawks fan. Since Jess was 22, she has been battling a rare disease called Hereditary Angioedema (or HAE for short). HAE is a genetic condition that causes painful and life-threatening swelling throughout the body. While HAE in general is rare, Jess has Type III, the rarest form. This disease is so rare, that the medications to treat her condition have only been around for a few years. This disease has greatly affected Jess's life. It is extremely debilitating, and has made it impossible for her to work. In 2007, it took the life of her second child, Roxy, when Roxy was just 3 days old. Despite all of this, Jess was determined to persevere but sadly passed away on July 26th 2014.
