Running for Running River School
Donation protected
Last year, given a challenge to run a marathon with three weeks of training, I was able to raise upwards of $4000 for Running River School. It was a great fundraiser for the nonprofit school, but I quickly realized after crossing the finish line that I wouldn't be able to replicate it without a greater effort.
So, this year I'm upping the ante! March 20, 2018, at 6:31 a.m. (sunrise) I will commence a run lasting 24 hours. It is a personal sacrifice symbolic to the efforts many parents make to ensure RRS is a viable choice for a quality education in Sedona. For those with greatest souls, I offer my greatest soles.
I am looking for donations in one of three ways.
1) Individual Donations - contributions through GoFundMe.
2) Pledges - promises of a specific dollar amount per mile ran in a 24-Hour period, which would be donated by March 27, 2018.
3) Partnerships - I'm asking for pacers, participants, and jog-along-well-wishers to join me! However, since it's a fundraiser I'm asking co-runners to personally raise $50/mile. Reach out to your network and "Raise and Run" to join me.
RUNNING FOR RUNNING RIVER SCHOOL.
Running River School is a nonprofit, Waldorf-inspired, parent cooperative in Sedona, Arizona. The grade school initiative was founded in 2012 by a group of loving parents. The educational model offers an alternative holistic learning experience allowing students to not only develop a strong academic foundation, but exposure to a curriculum that includes music, drama, art, handwork, gardening, cooking, movement, foreign language, not to mention a diverse outdoor program and bi-monthly field trips.
