24 Hours for Stu [WR Attempt]

Hey everyone,

December 9/10 of this year we venturing to Circular Head Kart Club in Smithton and attempting an official Guiness world record: Karting - greatest distance in 24 hours outdoors (individual) See here. We are doing this to raise funds for my uncle Stuarts [Stu] cancer treatment.

We recently found out that Stu's oesophageal cancer has recurred and doctors have advised that after the current chemo finishes will need immunotherapy treatment; for the AFL supporters it's the same treatment that Jarryd Roughead received...

For whatever reason (I question why) Immunotherapy isn't covered by the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme nor is it covered by private health insurance.
The cost for each theatment which occurs in 3 week intervals is approximately $5000.00 which is around $80,0000.00 over a 12 month period.
When we found this out I believe all family members felt compelled to act and ensure we raise the funds. 
Our goal is to raise $25,000, but obviously the sky is the limit 25k should cover over a quarter of the treatments. Surplus funds would continue to fund the treatment or if its not needed- donated to The Cancer Council. 

The current record stands a fraction over 1360 km's. My forecast's indicate assuming I can stay awake and still turn the steering wheel for that long and all things going well we are hoping to raise the bar to 1500 km's.

All donations will go below under 'our supporters'. Pease note; We are still seeking a fuel and lubricant partner. We require a 95 octane premium unleaded (Our fuel estimate at this stage looks to be around 250 litres).

If you cant afford to donate but still want to help to make a difference your help would be highly appreciated. We require voulenteers for the following roles!;
- Pit crew
- Time and record keeping
- Cooking etc.

If you would need to travel up to the event, accomidation can be organised for $15 per bed. Let me know as spaces might be limited.
