Cervical myelopathy neurosurgery

I am suffering with aggressive degenerating cervical myelopathy. I am currently on the NHS waiting list for emergency urgent neurosurgery to decompress my spine and nerves, but due to backlog cases all operations have waiting times of 1 year to 18 months. Patients have been waiting sometimes longer than a year. Most people like myself get left untreated and end up with irreversible damage or even worse paralysed. Brighton and Hove hospital are so backlogged in patients waiting for neurosurgery that the hospital are referring patients to other nhs hospital and even making nhs referrals to private hospitals aswell. These referrals can be made either via your neurosurgeon once you can actually get allocated an appointment, which the current waiting time is anything between 6-9 months just for your 1st appointment which is to long for people like myself who need urgent surgery, or you can get a referral via your own g.p which currently my own g.p is refusing to do, in fact my g.p is not only refusing to do an nhs referral but also denying he has the authority to do this. I can't blame the hospital they have warned all the local g.ps of the waiting list times. It is my g.p who is to blame for refusing a referral. I am a 44 years old single mum with an 11 year old daughter and 19 year old disabled daughter who i am her only carer but at the moment they are caring for me. I am currently trying to raise £15,000 to be able to go with a private hospital. Even if i manage to raise half of it I will have enough to start treatment and for mri scans, consultations, for surgery which costs £8,500, for follow up appointments, expenses, physiotherapy and for any adapted equipment i am going to need before and after treatment. I have been left bedridden for over 5 months now and i have been trying to get medical help since the middle of April. I have had to chase up the hospital and my g.p myself every week they never contact me back all they keep saying is if ive not heard back within 2 weeks call them again and when i do i just get told the same thing over again. I am stuck upstairs unable to even get downstairs. I can barely wobble to the toilet and back on crutches. Just going for an MRI scan at my local hospital took it out of me and I had to be carried back up the stairs when I got home afterwards.
