I am one of the veterinarians at SOS of Ohio and Franklin county dog shelter. One night I received a call about a stray dog who had just been dropped off at the shelter. She was emaciated, covered in fleas, and had a severely distended abdomen. It was found that she had been in labor for quite some time and was unable to give birth to her puppies due to her poor health.
Unfortunately her puppies had all already passed away but we were able to rush Addison to emergency surgery to save her life. Unfortunatley it was discovered that she had some complications due to being in labor for such a long period of time. It has been a rough several days for Addison but she is hanging in there and always happy to give me a tail wag!
Addison needs to find a central Ohio rescue organization who can send her to a 24/7 veterinary hospital today. Unfortunatley Addison's care is going to require a significant financial investment due to the amount of time she will likely be in the hospital and the special needs she may have for the rest of her life. We are looking to raise money for Addison's treatment and it will be donated to the hospital who provides her care. Any extra funds will be donated to SOS of Ohio to provide lifesaving surgeries to dogs with similar stories to Addison's whose owners are experiencing financial hardship and have no other options for care (we had another dog come in to SOS the same day Addison came in to the dog shelter. Luckily this dog's owners were able to find SOS and get the help she needed before her condition became as severe as Addison's).
Please help us fund Addison's treatment! Even a $1 donation will help her on this long road of recovery. Thank you so much for your time reading about Addison's story!
