Lee's Recovery Fund

I am Lee Bocksnick, I’m a 9 year Navy veteran. While active duty I was part of four deployments on the USS Tortuga and USS Fort McHenry.  Twice, I was part of rescue crews that assisted in the rescues of refugees that resulted in the saving of 140+ Haitian and El Salvadorian lives.  I was also part of the search and rescue crews that was directly responsible for the rescue and assistance to 550+ individuals in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, as well as a part of the relief crew that assisted in the rebuilding of small towns in Haiti after it was struck by earthquake.

During all of this, I was in a battle with terrible lower back pain.  I injured my back in the summer of 2002 while on active duty in Pensacola.  For years, I continued to fight though the pain with the help of pain killers and countless rounds of spinal injections.  Finally, in 2010, I received some relief after doctors at Portsmouth Naval Hospital performed my first back surgery.

After a successful recovery, I was Honorably Discharged from the Navy and returned home where I got to enjoy spending time with friends and family.  Once I was home, I returned to school where I graduated with an Associate of Applied Science.

Unfortunately in 2012, I reinjured my lower back once again.  Multiple rounds of injections rendered little relief to the constant pain.  Upon moving to Indiana in the fall of 2014, I was able to find a specialist that was eager to try to help me get my pain-free life back.

Since moving to Indiana, I’ve had surgery on my left knee, along with two more back surgeries, with my fourth back surgery scheduled this month.  I need help with the large financial expenses  that have accrued over the last three years and the bills that will still be filling my mail box while I’m out of work for the next three months.

I can’t even begin to explain to you how hard it is for me to ask for help.  I’m hoping that your assistance will allow me to make it though the time I’m unable to work and help with the mounting medical bills.

Thank you all so very much!
