Wilson Family Fire

On 7/29 we witnessed one of our own here in the neighborhood experience the tragic loss of their home due to a fire. I want to set something up to help our fellow neighbors/friends in any way we can. Casey was making dinner and seen some smoke and thought that was weird so she walked over to the front door to look out and there in front of her was huge flames of fire shooting out of the garage. All 3 kids and both dogs were in the house with her. Panic and chaos set in, she managed to get them all around and out to stand in my driveway. The Fire Department responded very quickly thankfully and was able to extinguish the fire before it burned to the ground. But the insurance adjustors have been out and said it will still be 6 to 9 months before they can get them back into their home. Due to smoke and water damage it is still unclear if they will be able to salvage any of their stuff in the house. I have been collecting clothes for the family but had several requests to start a Go Fund Me so others could help this way. I can’t explain how awful it was watching a family (adults and kids) with my kids watching their friends lose everything. Such a traumatic experience that no money in this world could fix but I can only hope that if we as a community pull together and show them how much we care it will put a little warmth inside of them to get them through this very rough time.
