Sierra's Smile-Special Needs Assistance
Sierra had a stroke before she was born and has hemiplegic cerebral palsy and epileptic seizures. She needs your help to obtain a very expensive neuropsychological evaluation and report. We need this report for evidence in a formal hearing, to show the judge that Sierra does in fact qualify for much needed services for her disability.
The Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Act (AB 846), also known as the Lanterman Act, is a California law, initially proposed by Assemblymember Frank D. Lanterman in 1973 and passed in 1977, that gives people with developmental disabilities the right to services and supports that enable them to live a more independent and normal life.
She and others like her are falling through the cracks because of budget cuts to federal and state programs for special needs children. Any extra funds collected will be used to form a non-profit to assist Sierra and others like her who are unable to get services, therapies, equipment and other things they need.
