Support for Andrea's Children

My name is Derric Lawson.  I am Andrea's older brother.  About six weeks ago Nikki (I'm sorry, I almost never refer to her as Andrea) told me about some blurred vision she was having.  She scheduled a doctor's appointment soon after and a CT scan was scheduled.  A large cerebral aneurysm was discovered near her optical nerve.  She was then sent for an angiogram to further confirm the location and size (17mm).  It had grown 2mm in size from her CT scan one week earlier.  Her neurologist referred her to a surgeon that was more familiar with the open cranium style  of correction (clipping) vs. the intravascular option he was most familiar with.  That appointment was scheduled for 4/29.  We were concerned about the time frame and felt this process should be moving along quicker.  We were assured that she was young, and risk of rupture was low.  She attended that appointment on 4/29 with the hope that surgery would be scheduled soon after.   On May 1st her aneurysm ruptured and six hours later she passed away.

This Gofundme campaign is to assist with the immediate support of her children Ray (11) and Nia (3).  I've been approached by many people who love Nikki and her children as much as I do and wanted an avenue to assist.  The funds will be used for grief counseling, daily needs, and to assist with any costs associated with Ray and Nia transistioning to their new lives.
