March is Blood Clot Awareness Month. On average, 274 lives are lost each day in the U.S. due to blood clots. Less than 1 in 4 people are able to recognize the signs and symptoms. Because of low public awareness, many will not recognize the signs and symptoms of a fatal blood clot until it's too late.
During the entire month of March, Joel's family will be raising money for the 22 - 38 Joel Wunnenberg Scholar Athlete Excellence Award. This scholarship award will be presented each year to a Springdale High School senior who mirrors the hard work and dedication of Joel. Your donation will not only help to keep his legacy alive at Springdale High School, but also help a worthy student on the next step in his or her academic career.
