My name is CarTerrius Rowser, and I am a fifth grade student . This year I was nominated to represent my school and
community at The Congressional Youth Leadership Council's Junior National Young
Leadership Conference this summer in Washington D.C.
The Jr. NCYLC nominates hard-working elementary students to attend an interactive educational program for young leaders who are eager to learn and ready to discover possibilities for the future. The Jr. NCYLC will give me a chance to participate directly in this program through its interactive, experiential curriculum and engaging in activities. I will experience present day Washington, D.C. through the eyes of American history. Also, I will have a first-hand look at real-world leadership. Through completion of the conference, I will return home with a better understanding of what it takes to be a leader in the classroom, school, and in my community. As you can see, this is a great opportunity that will help me build my leadership skills and learn all about being a responsible individual and achiever.
However, as you can imagine, this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and it comes at a high price. I am determined to do everything I can to raise the money. I am saving every penny I earn from chores and errands to make sure I don't miss out on this awesome experience. With the help of my friends and family, I will also be raising money by coordinating: a bake sale, a car wash, and possibly a raffle. I am trying to gain sponsors to help me with my tuition and travel costs. My uncle was generous enough to donate enough money for my first deposit, so that I would be guaranteed a spot!
My tuition for the Jr. NCYLC is $2,800.00, plus travel costs. I would love for you to help me with this adventure and become my sponser.
