C and T IVF Journey

It's a blurry photo, but it is from the last IUI attemp day when we were hopeful that there would be some luck to the unexplained infertility after 2 rounds of medications, 3 IUI rounds with medications and 4 years of infertility. It was not however, successful.
A year and a half after this photo was taken we have an answer. IVF is our best attempt and we finally had an explanation for infertility that seemed rather easy to combat once COVID 19 lets things reopen fully. On May 28 after a call with our IVF specialist, we were informed that we could move forward with our IVF, sooner than we had anticipated, but due to age the clock is ticking. Our benefits have been consumed by the IUI attempts, that we now know would never work. We pushed the fertility specialist for a sonohystereogram and was finally given an explanation to the infertility. Polyps, requiring a simple surgery.
Because of COVID surgeries have been pushed back, and are happening less frequently, the wait will be longer. As we are nearing 37 the days are numbered, with everyday lessening the chances of a happy, healthy baby as an outcome.
It is the recommendation of the IVF specialist that we proceed with IVF and are ready to go the minute the surgery for the polyps can be done. With that comes genetic testing, storage fees and medication costs. We have been very fortunate to have some assistance from family, but the process is expensive and we are hoping to come up with the remaining amount.
More than anything this has been a lifelong dream, and it has been a steep hill to climb. 4 years without a diagnosis, followed by a misdiagnosis, has resulted in a lot of time wasted for 2 people who thought the hard part of finding each other again (after 13 years) was out of the way. One last hurdle and we will hopefully be able to have the family we have worked so hard for.
Thank you
Chris and Tara
