Highway To Heaven... Alex’s Last Ride.

“Goodbyes hurt the most, when the story was not finished..” And what a story! Many of you know him as Chandito. Many of you call him a friend, a brother, a compadre. Unfortunately Alex’s long battle with his health has come to an end. An end for us, but a new beginning for him. Our lives are so fragile and we have so little time on earth. But he truly lived and he lived well. Alex’s battle has taken so much from him and yet he finds himself at peace and ready to take his last ride. A man only lives once and he spent the time he had truly living. He spent his life on the road working hard and touching lives everywhere he went. He left pieces of himself in every place. He’s been very ill the last few years and it took so much from him, but it never took his spirit. He never wanted to do dialysis, but he did it for his family. He never wanted heart surgeries, but he did it for his family. He never wanted to lose a part of his body but when it was time for his leg to go, again, he did it for his family. He fought hard because a man isn’t a man if he doesn’t fight for his family. Without war there would be no peace. And he went to war with himself every single day these last few years. He battled his own body, his mind, and his heart. He is exhausted but he is not defeated. He is truly at peace. We are thankful for all of you who have been there with all of us throughout this long and hard fight. During his life he traveled so many places and touched so many lives. Anyone that knows him knows he would give you the shirt off his back and the last dollar in his pocket. And that is why we are coming to you all now. He gave with all his heart without ever expecting anything from anyone. We want to honor his life and send him on his last ride the way he lived his life, in style. So now we come to you friends and family and ask that you help us send him to paradise.
