Paying Tribute To Mandy Garcia

Mandy Garcia age 36 passed away during COVID-19. She was diagnosed in March 2020 with Ulcerative Colitis & Crohn’s disease. Over the last three months there were several trips to different hospitals trying to get the proper care. Her family and friends were not allowed to be in the hospital with her to advocate at a maximum due to this pandemic and the dysfunctional of American healthcare. If you were not ill during this time you were not allowed to be in the hospital. Tracking down doctors and talking about proper care was almost impossible. Mandy’s body was having allergic reactions to medications given to her and her conditions continued to worsen until she slipped into a coma and on June 1st passed away. Mandy has a daughter named Kayla Williams that she left behind. Kayla was born Autistic and requires special care which is paramount to her development. The Garcia family will be sharing the responsibility of raising her. Mandy was a full time single mom who also was an advocate for mothers with autistic children. Mandy had so much love to give and found peace in being of service to mothers trying to navigate this broken/lacking education system that is meant for people of color to fail or give up on. She was a true warrior. We are asking for help at this time for the Garcia Family to have a proper funeral & burial/medical bills for Mandy. Any help will also go to raising Kayla and meeting her special needs with education/health care. This tragedy came as a shock adding to the challenges happening during a pandemic.
