Small Chicago Business DESTROYED and LOOTED

I am a small business owner who literally put my life savings into this small corner store, Pulaski Adams Food Mart in the west side of Chicago. As if COVID-19 wasn’t enough of a huge devastating impact, it was LOOTED and VANDALIZED on May 31, 2020 so horribly it was unrecognizable. I saw what was happening through the security cameras before the wire was pulled and turned black. So I drove to the store and parked across the corner and watched years of blood sweat and tears just collapse before my eyes. I called Chicago Police, to which the operator told me the police are “everywhere and can’t help everyone”.
Not to sound cliche, but my brother and I really brought it up from literally nothing to something and still had hope for it. Unfortunately, the insurance company we had TRIPLED the amount of the insurance and we couldn’t pay it. We were in between shopping for insurances when this unpredictable tragedy happened. We don’t know how or if we’ll recover from this but we thank any one who helps and we hope you all stay safe in this time of uncertainty.
