2024 European Duathlon Championships Portugal

Hi, my name is Adam Blackmore and I have just found out that I have qualified to represent the Great Britain age group team at both the 2024 World and European Sprint Distance Duathlon Championships.

As an amateur athlete, I fund everything from my bike, equipment and competition entry fees to kit, membership and track time. It’s highly unlikely that I can afford to represent GB at the World Championships as these are taking place in Australia (making costs prohibitive) though I am aiming to raise enough funds to help get me on the start line for my country at the European Championships which take place in Portugal in June 2024.

I love sport and I have always dreamt of representing GBR. Having a dedicated training programme over the past year and racing numerous qualifying races across the UK this season, I am over-the-moon to have achieved qualification; it genuinely is a dream come true. I’ve trained harder than ever, juggling family and work time by setting the alarm for 5.30am on most mornings for early training sessions – either on the bike, turbo trainer or out running on the road or trails.

Having researched this project well, I will need some financial support to help make my dream become a reality! I will need to fund flights, accommodation, international race fees, a bike box, GB team kit and international race insurance.
