UPDATE 06.12.23
BB competed against 15 of the best competitors and as the youngest, he qualified in 4th place! BB will compete again tomorrow in FINALS!!!

Hello community, family and friends!

BB has made huge strides since completing his first year as an adult in the Paraclimbing Community. Thanks to his supporters, last year he finished 3rd at the 2022 USA Nationals and 6th at Salt Lake City and Innsbruck, Austria Paraclimbing World Cups. BB was the youngest on the wall in the RP2 category.

He now has the opportunity to compete again at Nationals, two World Cups and World Championships that only occur every other year. Many of his supporters have been asking "How can we help?". Supporters can hep by making donations for BB to travel to these destinations here on GoFundMe or Venmo @BB2BFoundation.

As BB prepares for the upcoming months of training and competition we are hoping to raise funds to assist with travel expenses. International flights are outrageous. Aside from monetary needs, he could use the following:

  • Airline Points to be transferred to Brayden
  • Hotel Points near the competition sites
  • Corporate Sponsorships
  • Visa Gift Cards for food
  • Rental Car Points

Since last summer BB has trained daily and has spent two months at the Salt Lake City Climbing Olympic Training Center thanks to a host family taking him as their own.

BB's competition schedule along with his school schedule is:

March 3-5; Paraclimbing Nationals, Austin, TX
May 16-17; Paraclimbing World Cup, Salt Lake City, Utah
June 12-12; Paraclimbing World Cup, Innsbruck Austria
August 8-10; Paraclimbing World Championships, Bern Switzerland

We appreciate our community, friends and family supporting BB's desire to make the 2028 Paraclimbing Olympics (if approved) and his ability to continue fighting after the accident to achieve all that he can.

In 2014, BB was life-flighted to Children's Hospital of Alabama, where he learned to walk, dress himself and function all over again. BB is 16 years old and a Traumatic Brain Injury / Hemorrhagic Stroke survivor. He experiences what’s called “left neglect” due to the injury. The brain doesn’t talk to the left side of his body like ours does. He has to make conscious efforts to use his left side, or his left arm will posture. BB has experienced all sorts of challenges, socially, mentally and emotionally. In March 2022, BB competed at the 2022 USA Para Climbing Nationals as an adult. BB was evaluated by the IFSC Medical Professionals and classified as Range of Power 2 (RP2). RP2: “Range, Power” moderate impairment, inclusive of other impairment types - Impairment across all eligible impairment types with moderate impairment to function affecting two limbs. In qualifiers, he finished first, and in finals, he finished 3rd, which placed him on Team USA Para Climbing and eligible to attend the 2022 World Cups and the 2023 IFSC World Paraclimbing Championships (held every two years). World Cups are located in SLC, Austria and Switzerland. BB hopes to attend all three World Cups and the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC)’s Climbing and Paraclimbing World Championships Bern 2023. Hoping to see Paraclimbing in the 2028 Olympics and BB on the podium! We are asking for help for the first time ever to make this happen. These funds will be for traveling, food, transportation, and lodging. Some flights are more than $2,000 per person, and BB must have an adult in attendance.
