2021 Women's Decathlon Championship
The Women’s Decathlon Association held a very successful championship in 2019, featuring a new American and NACAC record of 7,921 points by Jordan Gray, thanks to the generous support of our community.
Unfortunately, the situation with COVID left us unable to contest a championship in 2020 and made planning for our 2021 championship very difficult.
We are pleased to announce that it has worked out for us to return to College of San Mateo for our 2021 championship on August 21-22.
Unfortunately, the last minute nature of the event has increased some of our operational costs compared to our 2019 event. We are looking at approximately $2340 for the facility rental, plus an additional $1100 to top off the long jump sand and reinstall the curb. We are also estimating an additional $3,000 or so in expenses for our timer, required medical staff, officials, announcer, etc.
We our setting our fundraising goal at $7,500 in order to cover the operational costs of the event and have at least $1,000 in prize money for our athletes. Any funds raised above this amount will go toward the athletes’ prize money.
The good news is that we have already raised $4,000 of this total through sponsorships!
