A story to back it up from Coach Liston...
There was a male athlete who I noticed had shoes with holes in them before practice. I asked him if he had the money for shoes. He said he did not. I asked what size he wore and he happen to wear the same shoe size as me. I had an extra pair of shoes in my locker. So I took the training shoes off my feet right there, gave them to him and went and put on the other shoes. He had a smile a mile wide and wore the shoes the rest of the year. The next season we created the shoe fund.
