2021 Allie Brunow Scholarship for Women
2020 winners of the Allie Brunow Scholarship: (First year) Virginia LaCore, (Second Year) Alicyn Schuster!
Also, Low Voltage Tech and all around great guy, Cody Knudsen!
Alana (Allie) Brunow was a low voltage data tech apprentice with the IBEW Local 22. She was in the program with her fiance', Cody Knudsen. She was excited as she began this exciting new chapter in her life.
In March, 2014, she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, followed by a rare CNS crossover into her spinal fluid. She began her fight, with chemo, endless meds and no shortage of excruciating pain. This including nearly dying from graft vs host disease after a stem cell transplant.
She kept a sense of humor and positive attitude with the help of Cody and her family. She fought hard into remission. And then she relapsed in 2015, fighting again with another stem cell graft, rejection and sepsis. She passed at 1243 a.m. , December 30, 2015, never giving up hope.
We wish to honor her memory and help other female apprentices achieve their dream. Your generosity makes our goal even MORE reachable to meet our goal of two $1000 scholarships for deserving Women of the IBEW Local 22.
Please consider Allie's Scholarship for Women in non-traditional , electrical careers during your holiday giving this year. It will make two hard-working women's lives brighter in 2021!
