Young Family Recovery
On July 16th, Phil and Connie Young were involved in a head on collision in Tehachapi California around 9pm. Both had to be air lifted to separate hospitals with life threatening injuries.
Connie was airlifted to Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield and Pill was airlifted to Antelope Valley Hospital in Lancaster. Both sustained multiple fractures and lacerations to the legs, wrists, ribs, pelvis and face. They both also suffered some internal injuries to the chest and stomach. Connie is currently awake and opening her eyes. She is able to communicate through nods and hand gestures. Phil is still in a coma.
They are both alive thanks to the quick work by the first responders and doctors, but have a long road to recovery ahead of them. They will both need some long term physical and possible neurological rehabilitation once out of the hospital.
Phil and Connie’s son August, daughter-in-law Kristina, daughter Aubrey and family members on both sides have been doing all they can to help take care of their parents and maintain their parents house as well as their animals. Bills are starting to come in and won't slow down once special treatments begin. We are trying to raise money to help ease their financial burden so they can focus on family and recovery. Any donations or even positive messages are greatly appreciated and will go directly to the family!
