This campaign has ended. Thanks to all who contributed to this campaign.! The 2019 Charlottesville Guitar Festival & Competition went very well and we had wonderful guitarists in the competition.
This is the 3rd Classical Guitar Festival & Competition in Charlottesville, VA. I organize it to spread the beauty of the classical guitar in Charlottesville and Central Virginia. Guitar students and young professionals will benefit from the competition, workshops, masterclasses and concerts that will be offered.
The guitar festival's website is www.GuitarCharlottesville.com. It will take place on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at The Haven (112 Market St., Charlottesville, VA), which has great acoustics for the guitar.
Your support will help us get the Charlottesville community interested in the classical guitar and help students and young artists get better by committing to practice for the competition and the classes.
Your help will be greatly appreciated and as an exchange we'll give you entrance tickets to match the amount of your donation, so that you come and bring your friends. Our expenses are:
Venue rent $500
Miscellaneous expenses: $375
Artists' fees: $500
Competitor's prizes: $1,125
The organizers are volunteers, so they're giving their time and expertise freely
Total expenses: $2,500

10:30am Guitar Masterclass.
12pm Lunch on your own.
2:00pm Competition eliminatory (to advance to the semifinal). Semifinalists will be announced at the end.
3:30pm Transcribing & Arranging for the Guitar.
4:30pm The Guitar as a lifelong career.
5pm Dinner on your own.
6:00pm Semifinal Competition. Finalists will be announced right at the end.
7:00pm Guitar Recital by Rafael Scarfullery.
8:00pm Final Competition & Winner's Awards.
