2017 Cornell in Jamaica
Donation protected
Each spring, 15 or more Cornell students travel to live with, learn from, and work alongside the members of Petersfield, Jamaica's AOC (Association of Clubs). The AOC is a locally-developed and directed community development organization that grew out of a sugar workers' cooperative. Each time we go, we learn more about building solidarity, community-development strategies, and the impact of globalization on one community. The total cost of the trip is about $1700 per student, and almost all of that stays in the Petersfield community. Since most of the students who participate are on extensive financial aid, we are seeking your support to help us to get there.
