Sembène—The Arts and Film Festival call Pittsburgh, PA its home. The festival is dedicated to Ousmane Sembène , – a revolutionary who used stories as his weapons. A man whose mission was to give voice to the millions of voiceless, disenfranchised Africans across the continent.
The film festival is 11 years old! We're screening 35 films at 3 venues: Alphabet City ; The Shop-Homewood and Pitt's Community Engagement Center - Homewood. All the films we screen are free to the public!
