Well Drilling Project... Kenya
Hi! My name is Cookie James , and I am the founding director of Tree of Life International ( TROLI). Our mission is to empower disadvantaged women and children via literacy and skills training.
As a missionary,I have traveled to many countries. Frequently I have witnessed young girls and women walk 2 miles round trip through the forest in order to obtain water from a dirty water hole.
They balance plastic water cans on their heads , and carry babies on their backs.,
This germ infested , tea colored water is used for drinking , cooking and bathing. You can probably imagine how frequently illness occurs. Occasionally large animals arrive, walking leisurely through the water.
Not only is the water detrimental to their health, the safety of the women and girls is compromised because of men hiding in the woods waiting to attack them.
Why Water?......
Whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. Prov. 1:25
Eshinutsa is a small mountainous village in Kenya. Tree of Life has been assisting the girls (many who are orphans) with necessities that will help keep them in school.
Without water, hygiene , illness, and other safety matters will not be met.
Providing a well for the village will greatly change their quality of life , and delete a daily and crippling challenge.
Please join Tree of Life International in our endeavor to change the trajectory of this village from one of disease and compromised safety, to health , safety , and well being.
Asante Sana ( thanks so much)
