Since 2003 ALTERNATE TAKES, a ten piece instrumental jazz group, has been delivering unique "alternative" versions of classic jazz repertoire to the National Capital region. Now on the cusp of celebrating its 20th anniversary it is time to document this exceptional accomplishment.
ALTERNATE TAKES generates a distinctive sound, rarely heard... a cross between a small combo and a big band. From funk/rock interpretations of jazz classics to repertoire not typically performed by jazz musicians. The music is first and foremost accessible to any audience and yet oozes that hip and cool feel that makes modern jazz what it is...
ALTERNATE TAKES will be celebrating our 20th anniversary in June of 2020. We'd like to celebrate this with a special 20th anniversary recording. But to make this happen we need your support. Any size donation is greatly appreciated.
Donations of $25.00 or more will receive a copy of the recording.
Donations of $100.00 or more will receive a copy of the recording and be recognized as a supporter on our website.
Donations $250.00 or more will receive a copy of the recording and be recognized as a supporter on our website as well as having the opportunity to attend a rehearsal (does not include travel or accommodation).
The first four individuals to donate $500.00 or more can select a song they would like to have arranged and featured on the disk. They will be recognized on our website as a supporter and will receive a copy of the recording.
The individual who makes the highest donation of $1,000.00 or more will get to help select the CD sub-title (i.e. Alternate Takes 20th Anniversary Celebration - YOUR CONTRIBUTION HERE). They will be invited to attend the recording session (does not include travel or accommodation). They will be recognized on our website and on the CD packaging as a GOLD SPONSOR and will receive a copy of the recording.
