Masks For Emerson Hospital

Donation protected
Emerson Hospital needs our help, and so do members of our community who are struggling financially through the COVID-19 pandemic. With the number of patients surging due to this virus, our local hospital does not have enough face masks to protect front line nurses and doctors. Our fund is set up to offer families who are financially impacted by this crisis an opportunity to help and feel productive by providing them with extra income in return for sewing masks for the hospital. We are also purchasing supplies for those who are willing to donate their time to sew but do not have the required fabric and thread. The hospital workers get masks, the families can pay for groceries, and members of our community are all working together. 100% of the funds donated will go to purchasing supplies or paying individuals on a per mask basis for their help, at $7.00 per mask. Our goal is to produce 500 masks to start with. If Emerson receives more masks than needed, these will then be given to another local hospital in need. Your support and generosity is appreciated immensely and will go directly to helping to save the lives and preserve the health of those who need it most right now.

More info:

My name is Nick Ferbert, and I am a resident of Concord, MA where Emerson provides care to members of our community. The funds raised will be used in two ways. We will purchase fabric, thread, and supplies to provide to local seamstresses who are volunteering to sew masks for the hospital. We will also provide a per mask reimbursement of $7 to individuals in our community who are struggling financially. These are individuals who have reached out after seeing our campaign to tell us about their story, whether it a single, self-employed mother trying to buy groceries for her kids while her business is shut down or an owner of a local business who is out of income but wants to still help in the community. The funds that are paid to seamstresses for mask making will be paid directly to the seamstress by check upon completion and drop off of the masks at our local drop off spots in Groton, MA or Acton, MA, from which the masks will then be delivered to the hospital. Any remaining funds at the end of this campaign, if unspent, will be donated to a local hospital to fight the spread of COVID-19 and to protect its workers.
