Fundraiser for Community Action Partnership

I’m raising $20,000 that will be donated to Community Action Partnership of Sonoma County (CAPS), an organization that has worked on behalf of low-income families in Sonoma County for many years. The people they serve, who live paycheck to paycheck, many with young children at home, have lost desperately needed jobs due to the pandemic. These workers often don’t receive severance or sick pay or have a financial cushion, and many of them won’t be eligible to receive government-issued relief funds. These workers already often live with fear and trepidation on a daily basis as they try to carve out a life for their families by doing backbreaking work for minimum wage or less. There are many young mouths to feed in this community. Many are immigrants who work hard to be part of this community. We can argue about immigration policy after the children are fed; for now, let’s look out for our neighbors and our community’s children. This fundraiser is for hardworking people in our community who may be unable to properly feed their family or pay their rent due to this crisis. We can absolutely do something about that. Please, we need each other.
