Help Get Us Back on the Same Continent!

My name is Megan and I am a 22 year old English student graduating in May. This past semester, I was fortunate enough to make the acquaintance of a fantastic man. His name is Lachlan, and I love him very much. Just a few short weeks ago, Lachlan's school term here in the United States ended, and so he got on a plane to return to Australia. We're continuing the relationship regardless of the difference, and although we skype just about every day and send many, many messages, we're not sure when we'll get to see each other again in person.

So here's the deal. In June, Lachlan goes on break from University for a couple of months. By that point, I'll have graduated school, and I would really like to be able to go and see him, and to stay in Australia for a while. However, even though I work two jobs, neither pays particularly well, and it's incredibly unlikely that I'm going to be able to save the money for the plane ticket by June-- it would require me to put away most of what I make, and that's not even including additional expenses, such as getting a passport, and paying for food while I'm there. The ticket is about 1600 dollars, and any money I could get towards paying for that would greatly ease my worries about the additional expenses. I know that times are hard for everyone, and I'd be eternally grateful for any contribution you could make.

More about Lachlan and I:

We met in an English class at the start of the semester, and ended up seeing quite a bit of each other. It took over a month for me to work up the courage to ask him on a date-- A 14 hour Lord of the Rings marathon in Hadley-- but I was finally able to get him on his own and ask him if he wanted to go with me. Not to sound cliched, but by the end of the first date we were both pretty swept off of our feet. By the second date, which was meant to be dinner, but ended up being an eight hour long conversation at a restaurant in Northampton, followed by another three hours talking in the car, we established that we wanted to do this "dating thing" on a regular basis.

Lachlan is unlike anyone I've ever met. I'm not traditionally prone to waxing poetic-- Indeed, I wasn't even looking for anyone at the time, and was even a bit cynical about relationships, but it would seem that life had other plans for me. I can tell you that he is intelligent, witty, has a great sense of humor, and a smile that has taught me the meaning of the words "weak in the knees". I've been so lucky to spend the time with him that I have, and it was one of the hardest things I've had to do to say goodbye to him, especially without knowing when we'll see each other next.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Even if you can't donate, I would greatly appreciate you passing the word along, so that this post might find people that can help!
