Knife Or Death Contestant Under The Knife

My name is Misty. I worked with Dave at Iron Mountain Metal Craft. He’s a hard worker, great at his job. Last year Dave had some serious health issues. He did everything he could to persevere, was able pull through, and thought he had put the health issues behind him. Dave put off applying for disability, preferring to work if he could. In an effort to support himself, he set off on a work tour that went sour. After being stuck in Florida with no money, phone, or valid ID for a few days, he finally got home to the greater Knoxville area. I thought our biggest challenge then would be to get his drivers license renewed. A small stroke and a heart attack have changed that tune. Dave had open heart surgery Tuesday, March 3. He’ll be released from the hospital in a day or two and we need to find him a small place to land. The Morristown shelter is no place to recover from open heart surgery. Several of us are going to rent an inexpensive motel room for him for a week or two but we need a more permanent solution. We’d like to raise enough for a deposit and first/last month’s rent for a small place in Jefferson County, and an inexpensive, hopefully reliable vehicle to get to doctor appointments and get groceries and such. Dave’s a great guy, always willing to lend a hand to others. I’m sure he won’t like this idea but he sure doesn’t need to be on an anvil or behind a grinder for awhile. Anything is appreciated.
