Kenny Ehredt
A note from his sister Ashley -
"As most know by now from following our journey my brother Kenny had been in the ICU from June 30th and was moved to hospice a little over a week ago. Early Sunday afternoon (7/26/2020) he took his last breath and peacefully passed surrounded by loved ones.
We are hoping to raise funds to help cover care costs, final expenses, and lost income due to this unbelievable life event that has come crashing down on us so unexpectedly. If you find it in your hearts to contribute, it would mean the world to us. Every {red headed} cent counts.
For those of you just joining, let me tell you a little bit about my wonderful brother. Kenny has always been the person who never met a stranger. Anywhere he went you certainly couldn’t miss him, he had the brightest blue eyes, a head full of beautiful red hair with the biggest smile. Such a kind soul, hilarious and dare I say... a perfectionist. Anything he did, he did it at 200% and if it wasn’t good enough, he wouldn’t stop until it was. He truly was the life of the party.
He and my dad shared a passion for motor sports. We grew up going to the race track to watch Dad race his stock cars. So naturally when Kenny was 2 yrs old and riding a pedal bike with no training wheels... he put him in a dirt bike soon after. We spent years out on the motocross track together as a family and that is something he was extremely passionate about until the very end.
Our dad passed away when he was around 14 years old and it rocked our whole world. We all felt so lost. Since then, I don’t think Kenny ever really found his way back. He struggled with his mental health and then addiction for a majority of his teenage years and in his adult years on and off.
Until recently many who knew Kenny were unaware of his struggles because on the outside he was charismatic, extremely hard working, a loyal friend, the best “uncle” to his friends kids, and extremely determined. But the ones who did know supported him wholeheartedly while he put himself into treatment and sought out help when he knew he was about to spiral. It wasn’t always easy, the dark days were dark and very scary, but the days and months and years he was sober out-shined all the rest and we wouldn’t trade those wonderful times for the world.
He is loved beyond measure and this pain we’re all experiencing just seems so unfair. However I know that the struggle and pain he had been living in all these years surpasses what we’re feeling. His battered soul is finally at rest, and that is all we've ever wanted. Please continue to pray for our family and all those who love him."
