Nathaniel Landis' Memorial

This is extremely hard to write this. I wrote his story, in it's entirety, this morning and didn't save properly, so I have to believe it was missing something. There's no way to do justice, in words, to the life my brother had lived, or the cards he was dealt and how he played them. He had faith, like no other. He had fears just like everybody else. He had a heart so full of love, and concern for everyone else's happiness. He was wise beyond my understanding. The simplest things would bring him so much joy, and he had the best sense of humor. To know him was good for the soul. A lot of people felt sorry for him, but I feel sorry for anybody who never was fortunate enough to have known him. My family was truly, blessed beyond measure to have been chosen by God to have him. The only way to describe the feeling of losing Nathaniel, is that our whole world, and especially my mother's home, has shattered. Time doesn't move, and nothing feels real. Strength, if measured, by endurance, will power, and love, Nathaniel was the strongest man that ever lived.. You can't change my mind. As a video game extraordinaire, his motto was, "if man made it, man can beat it." Through out his life he defeated every boss he took on, while simultaneously, he defeated every obstacle that life threw his way. Someone who was never expected to make it out of the hospital alive, after birth, survived 20 major surgeries, and went on to becoming the oldest living person with Marden Walker Syndrome, and kept on holding that championship belt, for years. He grew up just like every other kid, and kept up fine with the rest of us and the nonsense we would all get into. He was capable of doing anything that we could. As the years went by, he graduated from Solanco High School, Class of 2006. His condition progressively got worse into adulthood, as he got older he was able to do less and less, while acquiring more and more medical equipment, more complex issues that kept him tired. 33 years was a long fight, but do not be mistaken, he did win it. I personally believe whole heartedly, that not only is his freedom in full flight, but that he also has a better seat in heaven than someone like me, or you, or anybody else could ever achive. Service arrangements were made this morning. There is a finance plan from the funeral home, where we can gradually pay off a percentage of the expenses, but still have to have a lump sum up front Wednesday morning, before proceeding with his service and burial.
