Let's Get Adam Rolling

Donation protected
Hello. My brother Adam was hit by a car on the 1st of January 2018. Adam was hit and launched into a ditch on the side of the road which was full of muddy water after a heap of rain had gone through and Adam inhaled a large amount leaving his lungs in a really bad state. He was taken to gladstone hospital and within hours transferred and flown to gold coast university hospital with a 10% chance to live and was immediately put into ICU to receive life saving treatment. This didn't work leaving Adam in a induced coma for 3 months and on an echo machine for 3 weeks in hopes to perform a miracle. Unfortunately this had not changed anything and we still weren't going forwards. Adam was then sent to Melbourne for a lung transplant that never needed doing in the end because out of no where his lungs decided to start working. Once Melbourne had done all they could for him he was transferred back to goldcoast university hospital and put back into ICU. Once well enough he was sent down to the brain injury unit/ward to begin his road to recovery. After over 12 months and feeling that they had done all they could for Adam he was transferred to gladstone hospital and then moved into Port Curtis RnR center while we had renovations take place to make the house equipped for Adam so he could come home. Adam now uses a wheelchair to get around and requires full time care as he's been left unable to complete any task on his own. He doesn't talk or walk either and is fed through a peg tube as he forgets to swallow his food often. Although my parents get carers to assist them throughout the day. Nights are still very long for them, leaving them both unable to get work to make money to create an easier life for Adam. To get him anywhere Adam is lifted in and out of vehicles and with my dad having injured his back this makes it extremely hard to get Adam out of the house and to be able to get anywhere which includes to and from medical appointments. As you could imagine the same 4 walls would drive anyone insane. Now while Adam has funding from NISQ they will not fund a car but have approved funding to do modifications to make a car wheelchair friendly but my parents don't have the money to buy the car. They have set requirements that the car must be under 10 years old and running well. Now a little about Adam. In 2017 Adam completed grade 12 and went onto to graduate and go to prom with the dreams of travelling. He was always the sort of person to be out and about. Loved adventuring and having fun and not only has this accident taken all of that away from him, he barely leaves the house and the sadness in his eyes just makes me determine to help because I also first hand witness the happiness in him when he does get a chance to get out and about. Adam was the sort of person who would give the shirt of his own back to someone if they needed it. He loved to joke around and make people laugh. Those who had the chance to meet him before his accident would know exactly what I mean. So please help us to help Adam and get him back out and enjoying doing things even if he can't do the things he use to.
